1st day of Chemo

We started chemo this evening and will be here till Friday afternoon. I have been so discouraged all day. This was the date scheduled to take out his port, what would have finalized his treatment. I can hardly believe we have to keep doing this. Jordan is still not feeling good and low on energy, but is slowly getting better. Hopefully, the chemo won't knock him down again, I'm not sure I could stand it.

Our hearts are so heavy for you! Please know that we are praying for you all. I wish I had some great words to encourage and inspire you you but I am at a loss. Just know that we love you and are praying for Jordan's healing to come SOON!

Becky-

My heart weighs heavy for all that you are going through right now. I am continually amazed at the grace with which you and Brent handle all of this. I know on your end you do not feel that but looking in from the outside you guys are such an inspiring team. As always, our prayers are with you. I will be out that way on Thursday afternoon and will come to see you.

Yesterday night (London time) I noticed a program in the tele about an 18 year old boy going through the agony of sex transformation, creating breasts and replacing sexual organs, normally, I would lay myself on the sofa and spend one hour watching in horror and wondering what the world has come to. Not this time, the memory of a two year old going through the challenge of chemotherapy challenged the way I will have to spend the hour, almost in tears, I switched off the tele and went on my knees for a session of prayer: Reason; a two year old boy has preached to my conscience, to my life’s perspective; who is greater, a two year old boy or a great TV evangelist? I have never gotten to terms with why very bad things happen to good people, but this I know, God’s ways are not our ways.

My prayer is that Jordan who is able to speak to my heart in illness will live to speak to million hearts in healing. Hold on young champion and see the deliverance of our Lord.

Jordan, Ben is excited to come see you. Hopefully later this morning in between things at the hospital. Ben is also excited to show you Crush and Squirt, the righteous dudes from Finding Nemo. That will require an outing to the sixth floor atrium when both the fellas are up for it. "Uncle" Jeff loves you and your family a lot.

Miss you guys. I was thinking this morning about how Jordan never lets being sick take away his fun spirit. Even at two, that is an example to me. Whoever thought you could learn from a two year old?
